Charlestonians comprise all the ethnic groups you would expect in any mid-size city in the United States, including Caucasians and African-Americans.

The Irish seem to dominate the culture, especially downtown where there are several Irish-style pubs.

American citizens from other places seem to come from North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia, though there are certainly many people from other parts of the USA.

International ethnicities include Europeans, Far Easterners, Indians, Latinos/Hispanics, and many others.
