The Cooper River Bridge Run is an annual race held in Charleston, SC during the Spring. In 2006, the race covered 10 kilometers, starting in Mount Pleasant (near Shem Creek) and ending in downtown Charleston (near Marion Square). 33605 runners and walkers participated in the 2006 bridge run. 2006 was also the first year that the run was held on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. In recent history, the bridge run occured on the Silas N. Pearman Bridge.
