Drayton Hall

Drayton Hall is a historic plantation off Ashley River Road north of West Ashley. May be reserved by the general public. Drayton Hall was completed in 1742 and rests on a 600+ acre site just off of Hwy 61 about 15 miles from downtown Charleston. An original plantation from this era is very rare and it is managed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The house has no furniture in it. Only the structure and the fixtures remain on the inside. There is a regular Civil War reinactment held at Drayton Hall. The actors are allowed to camp on the grounds during the event.
