Interstate 526 (Business)

Interstate 526, also called I-526 and the Mark Clark Expressway, is an unfinished beltway Interstate Highway of Interstate 26 in Charleston. It forms a 19.26 miles half-circle around Charleston.

The western terminus is in West Ashley at Highway 17 west of the Ashley River. The eastern terminus is also at Highway 17, on a section co-signed with U.S. Route 701 east of the Cooper River in Mount Pleasant. Both of those sections go north around Charleston and meet up at Interstate 26 near the Charleston International Airport. Highway 52 and Highway 78 intersect with Interstate 526 nearby.

Future Plans

I-526 is planned to be extended so that it will form three fourths of a circle around Charleston. After I-526 goes over Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant, a suburb of Charleston, it becomes Business 526.
