Tyler Florence (born March 3, 1971) is a chef and television star of several Food Network shows. He hosts Food 911, How to Boil Water, and Tyler's Ultimate on the Food Network. He has been widely acclaimed for his abilities by publications such as Food and Wine, GQ, Wall Street Journal, USA Weekend, and People, as well as by other chefs. Ties to Charleston

Tyler Florence is a South Carolina native, being born in Greenville, SC. He attended the (now-closed) Johnson and Wales University campus in Charleston, graduating with an AS degree in 1992 and a BS degree in 1994. In 2004, he was awarded an honary degree from Johnson and Wales and recognized as a Distinguished Visiting Chef.

Chef Florence will host the 2006 Southern Living Cookoff which will be held in Charleston on October 5th, 2006 at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium.

Tyler returns to Charleston on occassion. He has personally been seen by a friend of the article author at the Wild Wing Cafe North Charleston location. He has also been seen at Whole Foods Market in Mount Pleasant.
