The USS Yorktown (CV-10) is a de-commissioned aircraft carrier which resides at Patriot's Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. The Yorktown was originally commissioned in 1941 and it's first major combat role was in the Pacific during World War II. A significant combat role was seen again during the Vietnamese war. Other roles included acting as a recovery ship for Apollo 8, and acting as a location for filming two movies, Jet Carrier and Tora!, Tora!, Tora!.

On October, 13th, 1975, the Yorktown was formally dedicated as a memorial in the Port of Charleston, SC. The ship is part of the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Self-guided tours of the ship can be taken every day of the year except Christmas.
