West Ashley

This is the area directly west from Downtown and across the Ashley River. It is often said to extend north to Summerville and west to Ravenel. Its southern border is James Island.

Location

West Ashley literally means "West of the Ashley River". As such, the western bound of West Ashley continues to grow as development down Ashley River Road and Savannah Highway continues. Currently, West Ashley continues at least to Bees Ferry Road, but that boundary will surely move further as the West Ashley Circle is developed.
